Sculpture

Bridge designed for 3D
Made with wooden dowels and bound with wire
Spray painted black with red tracking

-

There were about 9 spans, the larger ones had teams working on them.
This is my bridge for the single span that I had to work across.
The objective was to have a ball roll across every bridge down a constructed track
and land in a bucket.
-Objective completed-

-

This project dealt with designing a public space
that incorporated a word as the theme of the design
-

Negative cast cut from blue foam

-

The word I chose was "Look"
Can you see it?

The blue foam was filled with plaster to create a positive cast
Dimensions approx. 3' x 3'
It weighed a good 50 pounds

Drawing for public space design (top)
Finished foam negative (bottom)
Mirrored for effect

Drawings made from clay sculpture

-

Chosen clay piece
Cross sectioned on right

-

Cross sections enlarged;
cut from chip board and re-enforced with wooden dowels

-

-

Plaster cast for top of pedestal

-

Finished sculpture and pedestal
Wire mesh wrapped around wooden cross sections
Re-enforced with a metal rod
Plastered over mesh, sanded and filed
